Clothing for the Kids Who Never Stop Exploring
Built from the ocean. Made for the land. Designed to last through every adventure.
Born on a beach in Lisbon
Oceanary was founded in 2021 by two parents who couldn't find kids' clothing that was both genuinely durable and genuinely sustainable. Every “eco” brand they found was either too expensive, too flimsy, or too boring for the kids who'd actually wear it.
So they made their own. Starting with a single hoodie design and a small factory partnership in northern Portugal, Oceanary grew from a kitchen-table project into a collection worn by over 20,000 families across 40 countries.
Every decision — fabric, dye, stitch, packaging — still runs through that same original question: would we put this on our own kids?
Our commitments
Ocean-Rescued Materials
We partner with coastal cleanup networks to source post-consumer ocean plastic and spin it into fibre for our garments.
Certified Organic Cotton
All cotton is GOTS-certified. No pesticides, no synthetic fertilisers, no compromise on what touches your child's skin.
Built to Last
Triple-stitched seams and pre-shrunk fabrics that survive 100+ washes, hand-me-downs, and everything in between.
Non-Toxic Dyes Only
Every colour in our range is produced with OEKO-TEX certified dyes — vibrant, lasting, and completely toxin-free.
Crafted in Portugal, Powered by the Sun
Our long-term manufacturing partner is a family-run factory in the Braga region of northern Portugal, operating entirely on renewable solar energy. They've been producing premium childrenswear for over 30 years.
We visit the factory twice a year, every year. We know the people who make the clothes your children wear — and we think that matters.
- 100% solar-powered production facility
- Fair wages certified above regional living wage
- No subcontracting — every piece made in-house
- Zero single-use plastic in garment packaging
Better every season
By 2027 we're committed to making every Oceanary product from 100% recycled or regenerative materials — and achieving full carbon neutrality across our supply chain. We publish an annual impact report so you can hold us to it.
